FGCU Men's Tennis Has Momentum Heading Into Conference Match

With back to back dominating performances against in state opponents, the FGCU Men's Tennis team will have some momentum when they open their conference slate with Atlantic Sun foe UNF on Sunday, March 2.

Battling against FAMU last Saturday, the Eagles picked up their first sweep of the season in a dominating 7-0 performance. Now for the first time this season, the Blue and Green are riding a two match winning streak. That doesn't mean complacency though.

"Next week we host UNF in our conference opener and definitely need to be prepared to step things up in that match," said head coach CJ Weber.

Last season, North Florida took both matches against the Eagles, a hard fought 4-3 victory during the regular season and a 4-0 win in the A-Sun semifinals.

"We’re looking forward to getting back out there in preparation for UNF next week," said Lance Lvovsky, who defeated Jalen Evans (FAMU) 6-1, 6-1.

Also, the latest ITA rankings saw a bump of the Eagles' Jordi Vives up to No. 54 in the nation. Head over to the FGCU Tennis Complex on Sunday to see if Vives and FGCU can continue their hot streak.
