"We we're aggressive, something we didn't do at Jacksonville," Comer said. "Today we did a good job getting in the paint and finishing around the rim."
The junior point guard also added 8 assists, and a main beneficiary of those was Eric McKnight, who scored a career high 22 points.
"A lot of them were effort points, running down the floor. He [McKnight] does a lot of things for other people that doesn't reflect in the stats," said Joe Dooley.
With eight dunks on the night, FGCU certainly lived up to their ever so famous moniker. The most eye opening slam might have been Brett Comer's March Madness esque alley-oop to Bernard Thompson.
"When Bernard throws it ahead to me, he's always expecting it back," Comer said. "I just threw it as high as I could so he would have a chance for it."
To fans' delight, a Marcus Blake layup brought the Eagles over the century mark.
"It was really fun, and a little comical...it was nice to give them [the fans] that," Comer said.
