Sherwood Brown Signs With Maccabi Haifa

On a day already highlighted by FGCU's Best Upset win at the ESPYS, Sherwood Brown inked a deal with the Israeli team Maccabi Haifa. Brown was passed up by many NBA teams and was not given a chance in the Summer League. The contract is for the 2013-2014 season and has a team option for the 2014-2015 season.

Before this, Brown told me is looking to spend maybe 1-2 years overseas and try at the NBA again. It looks like he will be doing just that.

According to agent Seth Cohen, Maccabi plays all over Europe and comes to the U.S as well. They will be taking on NBA teams in preseason play; Phoenix Suns on October 7th, Detroit Pistons on October 8th, Memphis Grizzlies on October 13th.

Maccabi Haifa won the 2012-2013 Israeli Basketball Super League Championship.
