Chris Sale finally was given the run support he has so desperately needed. The White Sox were taking on the Tigers last night, trying to win the seriers. Josh Phegley's grand slam in the sixth inning gave the Sox the lead and sparked something else as well.
Luke Putkonen, recently put into the mound for the Tigers, threw behind Alexei Ramirez and bench clearing ensued. Just an inning earlier, Sale threw high and inside to Prince Fielder after Miguel Cabrera took him yard. Both Putkonen and manager Jim Leyland were ejected after the altercation. Sale pitched just over six innings and gave up three earned while striking out eight. Video of altercation.
