The Eagles turned the ball over a season high 21 times and that was troublesome on the other end.
"Passing and catching, poor all around, our execution," said Joe Dooley. "We turned it over and that led to points."
After keeping it close early, the Bulldogs started to pull away late in the first half.
“I thought they did a good job of controlling the tempo from the start to the finish,” Dooley said. “They got great contributions from off the bench, and they did a great job of turning our turnovers into points."
An aggressive Brett Comer led FGCU with 15 points while Chase Fieler add 11 and Bernard Thompson tallied 10. The Eagles couldn't find their shot from long range, and that proved harmful when down.
After dropping the first two on campus games in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic, Florida Gulf Coast now heads to Las Vegas to face FAMU on Sunday and Radford on Monday.
